Local Businesses Across Treasure Valley Shut Down in 2026
Closures include long-standing diners and a Nampa tortilleria, with owners citing retirement and lease issues.

Residents of the Treasure Valley are saying goodbye to several familiar establishments that closed their doors during 2026. The list of shuttered businesses includes restaurants that served the region for decades, as well as smaller independent shops and a hotel in Nampa.
One of the notable departures is El Sabor Tortilleria on Garrity Boulevard in Nampa. Owner Evelia announced the permanent closure in a message dated June 26. In the letter, she described opening the restaurant as a dream realized, noting that as a kidney transplant patient, she had not previously imagined such ownership was possible. The business had been operating since at least the summer of 2025.
KJ’s American Grille in Meridian closed in September of this year. The location had operated a restaurant for 34 years before ending its run. In Boise, Golden Corral on Emerald Street ceased operations after approximately 25 years in the community.
The RAM, a venue in Meridian, also closed its doors. The business had been a popular spot for local families and Boise State University fans for years. Beyond restaurants, the 2026 closures include neighborhood bars, retail stores, recreation businesses, and a Nampa hotel that shut down unexpectedly.
Owners cited a variety of reasons for closing. Some chose to retire, while others faced expiring leases, property redevelopment, or ownership changes. In some instances, no public explanation was provided. It is also possible that some companies are closing single locations rather than exiting the market entirely.
