Downtown Boise drew costumed crowds a week ahead of Halloween, with Humpin' Hannah's holding its Witches and Wizards Ball last weekend. The venue opened its doors to residents who came out to celebrate the holiday early, filling the bar for the first of two Halloween weekends in the Treasure Valley.

Halloween lands on a Saturday this year, and the date also brings the end of daylight saving time, adding an extra hour to the night. The calendar timing has pushed celebrations across the region into two weekends, with Trunk or Treats, Boo at the Zoo and baseball-o-ween events also on local schedules.

Humpin' Hannah's, a longtime downtown Boise bar, hosted the Witches and Wizards Ball as its first Halloween event of the season. Photos from the party were credited to Shannon Buccola. The venue is continuing the run with two more themed nights: Zombie Prom 2026 on Friday and Exotic Erotica on Saturday. A photo from the Zombie Prom was credited to Mateo of 103.5 KISS FM.

Halloween gatherings in the Treasure Valley traditionally include trunk or treat events, the Boise Zoo's Boo at the Zoo and baseball-themed celebrations, according to KIDO Talk Radio. Those events run alongside the bar's schedule this weekend. The Witches and Wizards Ball drew residents who arrived in costume ahead of the Oct. 31 date, which falls on a Saturday this year.
