Boise State University enrolled 28,536 students this fall, a 0.1% increase from fall 2025 and a 9.1% rise since fall 2022, the university reported. The university also reported record degree completion for the 2025-26 academic year.

The university welcomed 3,938 first-time undergraduate students, its largest incoming class. Of those, 2,305 were Idaho residents, the largest such cohort in university history and a 25.9% increase over fall 2022.

Several programs tied to Idaho's labor market posted gains. Construction management enrolled 530 students, up 48% since fall 2022, with 45% of majors hailing from Idaho. The university reported 90% of 2024-25 construction management graduates were employed in Idaho after graduation. Electrical and computer engineering enrollment reached 348 students, a 69% increase over four years, while mechanical engineering reached 634 students, up 36%. Nursing enrolled 1,817 students including pre-nursing, an 18% gain. Medical imaging and radiologic sciences reached 1,315 students including pre-majors, nearly four times fall 2022 levels. Finance enrolled 571 students, up 9% from fall 2025. The music BA program enrolled 67 students, two and a half times its fall 2022 count.

Boise State President David W. Hahn said the university is preparing students to fill roles across the state. "Idaho needs nurses, engineers, construction managers, teachers, business leaders and entrepreneurs, and Boise State is preparing students to fill those roles," Hahn said.

During the 2025-26 academic year, 4,145 individuals completed bachelor's degrees and 5,765 completed degrees of all types, both records. Among students who began in fall 2020, 61.6% of first-time students finished within six years, up 2.5 percentage points from the prior year, while 67.9% of transfer students finished within six years, up 7 percentage points.
