Idaho Gas Prices Fall 13 Cents Despite Rising Crude Costs
Boise drivers pay $4.71 per gallon as statewide averages drop, though prices remain high compared to last year.

The average price of gasoline in Idaho decreased by 13 cents per gallon this week, bringing the statewide average down to a level that still sits well above figures from the same period last year.
According to data provided by AAA, Boise drivers currently pay $4.71 per gallon. This figure is 33 cents lower than the average recorded last month. However, prices in the Treasure Valley remain $1.27 higher per gallon than they were at this time last year.
The decline follows a 22-cent drop in Pocatello, which now reports the lowest price among major cities on the list provided by AAA, at $4.61 per gallon. Rexburg residents face the highest cost on the list, paying $4.78 per gallon. Other regional prices include $4.63 in Franklin and Idaho Falls, $4.71 in Twin Falls, $4.40 in Lewiston, and $4.37 in Coeur d’Alene.
Matthew Conde, the public affairs director for AAA Idaho, stated that the crude oil market faces intense pressure from conflict and uncertainty. He noted that while retail gas prices are currently falling, the climbing cost of crude oil remains a major factor that keeps global energy prices high.
Conde described crude oil as a major product that powers the global economy. He emphasized that the rising cost of this commodity is impossible to ignore, even as consumers experience short-term relief at the pump.
The current pricing trends come as President Trump considers military action against Iran. Analysts suggest that the outcome of the midterms or a resolution in the Russia Ukraine and Iran conflicts could influence future energy costs. A potential end to these wars might lead to a significant drop in energy prices, while a refill of the strategic oil reserve could help normalize costs for Idaho drivers.
