Boise State holds No. 20 spot in latest AP poll

Boise State remains at No. 20 in the Associated Press Top 25 football poll released on Sunday, November 1, 2026. The Broncos are currently the only team from the Pac-12 conference holding a ranking. This position follows their recent comeback win against Texas State.

The landscape of the top 25 shifted dramatically this week. Ohio State fell from No. 2 to No. 11 after losing 30-18 to Southern California. This drop marks the first time in five years the Buckeyes have exited the top 10. The loss continues a four-week streak where the No. 1 or No. 2 team has lost to an unranked opponent.

UCLA moved into the top five for the first time in 25 years, landing at No. 5. The Bruins are 8-0 under first-year coach Bob Chesney. They achieved their highest ranking since 2001 when they were 4-0. UCLA shut out Nevada 27-0 in their most recent game to secure this spot.

New Mexico entered the rankings for the first time in program history at No. 22. The Lobos are playing their first 7-1 start since 1982 under head coach Jason Eck. Their 21-16 win at San Jose State propelled them into the poll, making them the only unbeaten Mountain West team in conference play.

Miami retained the No. 1 ranking for the third consecutive week. The Hurricanes received 62 of the 70 first-place votes from the media panel. They defeated North Carolina 38-35 to maintain their lead. Georgia moved up to No. 2, followed by Utah at No. 3 and Notre Dame at No. 4.

Other movement included Indiana slipping to No. 6 after a 23-16 overtime win over Minnesota. Indiana now holds the longest active streak of consecutive top-10 rankings at 22 weeks. BYU, Kentucky, Alabama, and Texas completed the top 10. USC, Iowa, and South Carolina also entered or remained in the poll following their respective victories.

The poll lists 10 SEC teams, five Big 12 teams, and five Big Ten teams. The ACC has two ranked teams, Miami and Wake Forest. Notre Dame stands alone as the independent team in the top 25. Boise State and New Mexico represent the Pac-12 and Mountain West conferences respectively.
