Mother Faces Trial Over Twin Deaths
Defense argues vaccines killed toddlers; prosecution counters with suffocation evidence.

Andrea Shaw, 23, will face a jury in January 2027 regarding the deaths of her twin sons. The Payette County prosecutor’s office is seeking the death penalty in the case. The state alleges the twins died of suffocation after they were found in bed.
Shaw’s legal team is preparing a defense centered on preventative vaccinations. They contend that flu shots administered to the 18-month-old boys caused their deaths. The twins received two additional vaccines during the same medical visit in May 2025. Prosecutors argue that two healthy children dying from flu vaccines within minutes is statistically unlikely.
The National Library of Medicine notes that while vaccinations can compromise a child’s health, such severe outcomes are rare. Family members and friends on the defense side support the theory that the vaccines triggered the fatal reaction. The state’s case relies on autopsy findings that indicated signs of suffocation.
Shaw is scheduled to appear in court on December 8 for a pretrial conference. Her jury trial begins on January 11, 2027. She is considered innocent until proven guilty in the court of law.
