The Idaho Botanical Garden has opened ticket sales for its annual winter light display, Winter Garden aGlow 2026. The event will feature nearly 900,000 Christmas lights installed across the grounds.
Visitors can enter the garden at 2355 Old Penitentiary Road in Boise. The lights turn on for the first time on Friday, November 27. The event runs through December 30, 2026, with the garden closed on select nights.
The garden recently expanded, allowing for a new illuminated display called the Lake of Lights. This new feature stretches across Outlaw Field. Returning attractions include visits with Santa on select nights, Gingerbread Lane, holiday music, and a scavenger hunt involving Jerome the Gnome. Free hot chocolate and cookies are provided for all guests.
Admission prices vary by age and night. Adult tickets cost $20, while youth tickets are $16. On discount nights, adult tickets drop to $16 and youth tickets to $11. Children under 3 enter for free. Garden members receive additional discounts, and parking is free for all attendees.
Active military members with valid IDs receive free admission. The garden also offers special free-admission dates for veterans. The Idaho Botanical Garden recommends purchasing tickets online in advance, as popular dates may sell out.
Guests should plan for a 60 to 90 minute walk through the displays. The garden advises visitors to dress warmly for late November and December weather in Boise. Tickets and the complete schedule are available through the Idaho Botanical Garden website.
