Voters in Ada County selected two new members for the Ada County Highway District commission on Tuesday.

Preliminary results released late Tuesday night show incumbent Miranda Gold winning reelection to represent subdistrict 3. With 97% of precincts reporting, Gold received 98,125 votes, or 61.9% of the total. She defeated challenger Sean Sundwall, who garnered 60,329 votes, or 38.1%.

In a five-way race for subdistrict 4, Marisa Keith emerged as the winner. Preliminary tallies give Keith 69,279 votes, or 46.6% of the total. Greg Ferch finished second with 25,564 votes, or 17.2%. Chris Campbell received 24,993 votes, or 16.8%. David Case collected 19,682 votes, or 13.2%, and Joel Meusch received 9,179 votes, or 6.2%.

Gold told BoiseDev via text late Tuesday that she is grateful to voters for indicating the district is moving in the right direction. She said the commission has more work to do and she looks forward to building on current momentum.

Keith also sent a text message to BoiseDev expressing excitement to represent county residents. She stated she intends to focus on safety initiatives for all road users. Keith acknowledged that balancing growth and rising costs presents challenges for the county, but she said she is ready to take on that task.

These races were the first to operate under a law passed by the Idaho Legislature earlier this year. The statute allows voters from anywhere in Ada County to vote for a candidate in any subdistrict up for election. Before this change, voters could only select candidates in their own subdistrict. ACHD learned the new law applied to this year's election in mid-September. Another part of the law that makes the races partisan will take effect in 2028.
