Jackson Chourio collected four hits in a 10-1 victory over the Tampa Bay Rays on Monday night, pushing the Milwaukee Brewers to a 3-0 lead in the World Series. The win places the franchise within one game of its first championship in 57 years. Chourio, who is 22 years old, accounted for a quarter of the Brewers' 16 total hits during the rout.

The Brewers have dominated this series with aggressive offensive displays. In Game 1, they blitzed pitcher Nick Martinez in the first inning. They overcame a four-run deficit in Game 2. In the fifth inning of Monday's game, the team strung together eight runs, with Chourio starting the rally with a base hit up the middle and finishing it with a double into the right-center-field gap.

Chourio has played 23 career postseason games across the last three years. His performance in this series has marked a statistical anomaly. While the league's On-Base Plus Slugging average is 39 points higher in the regular season than in the postseason, Chourio's trend is inverted. His regular-season OPS from 2024 to 2026 is .799. In the playoffs, his OPS stands at .882.

The outfielder signed with Milwaukee as a 16-year-old from Venezuela in 2021. He has since become the first player to record three consecutive seasons with 20 home runs and 20 stolen bases before the age of 23. Brewers president of baseball operations Matt Arnold noted that Chourio is turning into a superstar in real time.

Field coordinator Néstor Corredor observed that Chourio had become too anxious during a rematch against the Los Angeles Dodgers earlier in the month. Corredor worked with the player to shorten his swing and manage counts. Chourio has since adopted a calmer approach, focusing on positive results and relying on the support of his teammates.

Brewers captain Christian Yelich described Chourio as having a slow heartbeat, noting that the player enjoys the moment. Chourio, who is not fluent in English, said he tries to apply lessons from Kobe Bryant's autobiography, 'The Mamba Mentality.' His middle name is Bryan in honor of the Lakers legend.

The Brewers will host Game 4 of the series on Wednesday. A win will secure the championship. Chourio has eight hits in the first three games of the World Series.
