Bogus Basin Ski Education Foundation will host its 75th annual ski swap at Expo Idaho from Friday, October 30, to Sunday, November 1.
The event allows residents to buy and sell discounted skiing and snowboarding equipment. Sellers may submit skis, snowboards, nordic gear, telemark skis, boots, clothing, and snowshoes. Items such as sunglasses, baseball hats, T-shirts, and street shoes are not accepted.
Sellers must register items online before dropping them off. Drop-off hours are Thursday, October 29, from noon to 8 p.m.; Friday, October 30, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.; and Saturday, October 31, from 10 a.m. to noon. Volunteers will tag and display the gear at drop-off. If an item sells, the foundation takes a 25 percent commission and mails a check for the remaining 75 percent by December 1. Unsold items must be picked up between 4 and 6 p.m. on Sunday.
Shoppers can browse the event during the following hours: Friday, October 30, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.; Saturday, October 31, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Sunday, November 1, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission is $5 on Friday and Saturday. Entry is free on Sunday with two canned food donations, which go to the Boise Rescue Mission. Children 12 and under enter free all weekend.
The ski swap serves as a fundraiser for the Bogus Basin Ski Education Foundation. The group provides access to competitive mountain sports programs for youth in the Treasure Valley.
