The YMCA of South Alabama will host a fundraising event on Friday, November 6, to generate revenue for its Financial Assistance Program. The gathering, titled Good Times for a Good Cause, is scheduled to run from 6:00 to 9:30 p.m. at Moe’s Original BBQ in Daphne.
The organization aims to use proceeds from the night of food and bingo to lower the financial barrier for local families. The Financial Assistance Program specifically targets the costs associated with participation in the Y’s various services. By subsidizing these fees, the nonprofit seeks to ensure that price does not prevent residents from accessing its facilities and classes.
The YMCA of South Alabama operates beyond its well-known fitness centers. Its service portfolio includes afterschool care, summer camps, swim lessons, and youth sports leagues. The organization also provides dedicated programming for older adults, aiming to support individuals across all age groups.
Local community leaders are booked as special guest callers for the bingo games. The event serves as a gathering point for the Mobile area community while directly supporting the nonprofit’s operational goals.
The organization is currently exploring methods to expand its geographic reach. It intends to better serve families throughout the region by broadening its existing partnerships and program offerings.
The YMCA of South Alabama is a nonprofit focused on youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. Additional information regarding the November 6 event is available at ysal.org/goodtimes.
