Jennifer Lawrence recalled an on-set incident involving unauthorized personnel during a nude scene.

The Oscar winner shared the details on Wednesday during an episode of the Call Her Daddy podcast. She stated that random crew members who had not been approved were present while she was filming. Lawrence said she reacted strongly to the violation because she wanted to establish a clear standard for the industry.

Lawrence explained her reasoning to host Alex Cooper. “There was like an instance on set where crew members who weren’t approved when I was doing nudity, [they] were on set,” she said. “I came down hard on it purely because if we’re not setting that kind of principle at the level at which we’re doing it right now, then what on Earth is going to happen to an 18-year-old unknown?”

The actress emphasized the pressure young actors might feel in similar situations. She described a scenario where a new performer might hesitate to speak up for fear of being labeled difficult. “If [a young actress] shows up and there’s people that aren’t approved, she’s going to be in a position like, ‘Do I say something and get a reputation for being difficult? Or do I just let these people that I’m not comfortable [with] see me naked?’” Lawrence said. She noted that it was important for her to explain why the situation was not okay.

The discussion came after Cooper asked if Lawrence has become more comfortable advocating for herself in Hollywood. Lawrence said that flexibility is part of the job, but she speaks up more now because she is aware of her position in the industry. She previously discussed her comfort with nudity on the Las Culturistas podcast last year. That conversation focused on her role in the 2025 film Die My Love, where she acted opposite Robert Pattinson.

Lawrence revealed that she did not use an intimacy coordinator for the sex scenes in that specific movie. “We did not have [an intimacy coordinator], or maybe we did, but we didn’t really… I felt really safe with Rob,” she said at the time. She noted that Pattinson is not pervy and is in love with his fiancé, Suki Waterhouse. Lawrence added that she would have used a coordinator if she felt any uncertainty about the actor’s intentions. She observed that some male actors can feel offended if they are not wanted for a scene, which can lead to punishment. She stated that Pattinson was not like that.
